Having an Eating Disorder: As Explained by Friends

Recently I have been watching a ton of netflix; specifically I have been watching a ton of Friends. I'm only on season five, but I am going to be so sad when I get to the last episode! I'm pretty sure Friends is like Sex and the City, everyone identifies as that one character. I don't think anyone would argue with me when I say that Monica is definitely my spirit animal.

Because the show completely gets me, I decided to compile a list: Having an Eating Disorder, as Explained by Friends. Hopefully you enjoy my attempt to bring a bit of humor to a heavy topic.

When someone approaches you to talk about calories, weight, diets, etc.

Feeling like everyone is watching you eat

Having a safe meal planned out, only to find that someone ate it

When using skills actually works

"You look so healthy!"

Stealthily trying to avoid meals

Doing well in recovery

Being blindsided by a rough day

"Today's lecture will be about eating disorders"

Challenging ED thoughts

Trying to justify ED behaviors

Remembering that a lapse isn't the end of the world
